Brickwork
This photograph shows a wide range of brickwork styles spread over quite a small area of the exterior of the
mosque. The technique used to insert the glazed blue bricks can clearly be seen. Sadly many of these have
now been removed, but the word 'Allah ' which they formed can still clearly be
seen. Higher up many ogf the bricks are still in place and the different bonding styles used to create patterns
can be clearly seen. Note too, in the tympanum over the little mehrab on the outside, the rmeains of some
terracotta inserts used to make floral patterns.
