The poem consists of four lines which start in the bottom left hand corner of the panel and work their way clockwise round the outside. The centre panel contains the signature of the designer, Mohammad Amin. The text in the lower left kite shaped section starts in the lower right hand corner. The text in the upper left section starts in the lower left hand corner. The text in the upper right hand section starts in the top left hand corner while the text in the lower right section starts in the top right corner. Within each section the text proceeds from the start in a more or less clockwise direction round the perimeter, ending in the centre. The 'signature' in the central square starts in the right corner and again proceeds in a more or less clockwise direction. The full text is given below:

The letters of our sins have been assembled,

They were placed in the balance against our deeds.

We had sinned more than anybody but

Our sins were forgiven through the intercession of 'Ali

The work of Mohammad Amin, the son of Mohammad Mo'men
