Here for the first time you can appreciate the achievements of the tile-makers. The cool lustrous blue of the tilework prepares the visitor for the bright sunlight of the central square and the brilliant series of sunburst patterns in the main chamber. The angled corridor of which part is shown in this picture runs south-west alongside the main barrel vault, and the height and angle of the archways is such as to conceal the view of the main dome until you come into the sunlight of the square
