The Bidekhem Church and the Maryam Church dominate Jolfa Square. The latter has a separate belfry and is easily distinguished on this account, however the lavish decoration of the former rivals that of the Vank Cathedral itself.
The church was constructed in 1628 and largely financed by the Armenian merchant, Petros Valijanian. It boasts the highest dome in Jolfa, which is supported on a simple square base without columns.
