As you stand in with your back to the main entrance to the Bazaar you can see the commercial end of the square and the sharp contrast with the religious areas to the north and west. On the left is the beautiful Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque, built by Shah Abbas I for his father in law. On the right is the palace that Shah Abbas I built for his family and straight ahead is the Royal Mosque which Shah Abbas built when the Mosque he built for his father in law proved too small for his rapidly growing retinue. Sadly he never lived to see it completed.
